GENERAL ZOOM MEETING February 18, 2021

PRESENT:

Betty Chapman, Beth Verner, Bob Stolting, Ruth Stolting, Karolynne McAteer, Kathy Scheidemann, Ginny Conover, Mary Wood, Carol Dowd, Jessica Schollaert, Patty Pace, Bill Pace, Ellen Pfann, Ursula Walsh
GUEST: Angie Gelman

MEETING TO ORDER: President Patty at 6:06 PM.

TREASURY: Betty Chapman

The club’s Treasury is healthy, even though we didn’t have a Dog Show in 2020 (due to COVID-19). Betty asked the Club to consider re-instating our donations and asked that the club come up with a priority in 2021. We will not be doubling donations to make up for the 2020 shortfall.

No Motion. No Vote.

GUEST:

ANGIE GILMAN – Ellen noticed a new person logging onto the Zoom Meeting. She was welcomed and asked to introduce herself. Angie lives in Carthage and has two Great Danes. As a child, she was active in Junior Showmanship. Patty Pace and Ellen Pfann offered to be her sponsors.

WELCOME ANGIE!

Membership Chairperson Marjorie Riddle Watson will be notified to take the application to the next level.

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY: Ellen Pfann – No Report

Action Items:

1.       Ursula Walsh asked that the upcoming Agility Trials at Teamworks be added to the website April 30, May 1, & 2, 2021. Ursula will send the Premium when ready.

2.       Ursula asked that the June 10, 11, 12, 13, 2021 Agility Trial scheduled for Bon Clyde be added to the website.

3.       Betty Chapman asked that all those that don’t feel comfortable on Zoom be invited to learn Zoom.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Patty Pace

·         Vendors if they attend, will need to supply their own 10x10 Tent and will not be under the big tent. Dick Rumbo has been invited to sell basic show supplies.

·         Premium was submitted to MBF on February 17, 2021

·         Limit this year will be 1000 dogs per day. Normally the show attracts 700 per day. But many shows have been cancelled and there is demand, so the feeling is that we could likely meet our maximum. Club hasn’t been given an exact “opening” day. Golden Retriever people and German Pinscher People are having their specialties on Friday. AKC prohibits the club from giving them priority for rest of weekend. But we will notify the clubs to make sure they tell their members to keep their eye on the MBF website.

·         Professional Stewards are confirmed.

·         Parking – there will be a pre-pay option. Others will have to have exact change.

·         Nancy Vargas has agreed to spearhead the raffle.

DOG SHOW REPORT: Karolynne McAteer

·         No Vendors with exception of select 10x10 tents out in open.

·         Big Vendor Tent normally used for vendors will be converted to an additional Grooming Tent, to account for Social Distancing.

·         Porta Potties confirmed

·         Fire Extinguishers confirmed

·         Will not need the normal 8 tables or 100 chairs --- because spectators will not be invited to sit (due to COVID).

·         No Demo’s, no CGC.

·         Since we don’t know whether spectators will be allowed due to COVID regulations, we won’t be advertising or putting anything into Calendars. We may consider Facebook Paid advertising within 3 weeks (Ellen).

·         TROPHIES: limited to Groups and Best in Show --- we got donations for these last year – and since the 2020 show was cancelled, those donations will be carried over to this year.

BRAGS:

Jessica Schollaert’s Wheaton Terrier “Tula” is the #1 Bitch in the country and the #2 Wheaton in the country. WTG TULA!

Ellen Mantel Pfann’s German Shepherd Brielle is featured in a new Independent Film – “GOODBYE, BUTTERFLY.” It can be viewed on several streaming services including Amazon Prime and iTunes. BRAVO BRIELLE!

Kathy Scheidemann’s Piper received her Junior Hunter (JH). Piper will continue her training toward the Senior Hunting title with her Professional Trainer. BRING IT ON PIPER!
